Work Schedule: 1st shift: 6:30am- 3:00pm Positions Supervised: Machining Engineers
POSITION SUMMARY
Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, production, research, and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Confer with management and production to discuss project specifications and procedures.
· Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
· Analyze technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
· Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
· Assign, direct, and evaluate Associate work and oversee the development of staff competence.
· Prepare production improvement budgets and direct the negotiation of technical specifications.
· Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
· Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
· Review and recommend or approve cost estimates.
· Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to management and subordinates.
· Set technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management.
· Recommend personal action such as hiring, promotion and disciplinary action.
· Achieve company and department business plans for Health and Safety Goals
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (four year college or technical school) or related experience
Experience
Three to seven years related experience
