The Manager – Tax position provides an opportunity for an experienced real estate tax professional to manage all tax-related matters for Asana Partners at the investment, REIT, fund, and corporate level. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will partner with senior management on fund structuring, REIT compliance, transactions support, non-domestic investor tax strategy, and corporate tax planning. This individual will play a critical role in shaping and optimizing the firm’s tax strategy, supported by a top-tier external tax counsel and tax advisory teams. This is a highly visible career-defining role with a path to Director-level leadership as the firm continues its growth. Duties Include:

Firm-wide Tax Leadership
- Serve as tax liaison and subject matter expert for all teams across the company
- Ownership and coordination of tax responsibilities between in-house accounting/deal teams, while managing relationships with key external tax advisors (accounting firms and tax counsel)
- Oversee corporate tax compliance, planning, and strategy
- Optimize fund structuring ensuring investor tax efficiency, operational viability, and cost controls
- Support capital raising efforts and liaise with investor tax teams (typically non-domestic capital)
- Lead REIT planning and operations – six funds with 60 subsidiary REITs and growing
- Ensure REIT compliance with oversight of REIT testing performed by Big 4 accounting firm
- Research, develop and implement tax strategies for future products and legislative changes
- Support asset management on various tax issues coordinating with external tax advisors
- Assess tax impact on transactions, ensuring deal teams have appropriate training on key issues
- 5-10 years of relevant real estate tax experience, preferably in private equity fund management, public REITs, or a top-tier law/public accounting firm serving real estate clients
- Expertise in fund structures, REITs, tax compliance, investor-level tax considerations
- Highly motivated, proactive, strategic thinker, with a passion for adding value through tax strategy
- Strong collaborator, comfortable working closely with deal teams, senior management, and external tax advisors in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree a plus
