Asana is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager to lead and manage all aspects of SEC reporting and technical accounting for our company. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role will collaborate cross-functionally and manage relationships with internal and external teams to support the company’s reporting and accounting processes. This position reports directly to the Assistant Corporate Controller.
This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve
- Lead the preparation and filing of 10-Q, 10-K, earnings releases, and related SEC filings, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submissions.
- Research and document complex accounting issues and transactions, including writing comprehensive technical memos supporting accounting positions under US GAAP.
- Support with equity accounting for stock-based compensation, ESPP, earnings per share (EPS) calculations, ASC 842 lease accounting, internal-use software, and other areas and related disclosures.
- Prepare materials, including earnings release materials, audit committee materials, and oversee SEC reporting schedule and calendar.
- Provide technical accounting expertise to support non-recurring and complex transactions.
- Manage deliverables for external auditors and facilitate audit requests related to SEC reporting and technical accounting.
- Develop and maintain effective internal control over financial reporting, ensuring Sarbanes Oxley requirements are met.
- Build and lead a high-performing SEC reporting and technical accounting team, fostering professional growth and development through mentorship, coaching, and training.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $207,000 - $279,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
