Position Summary
Our Cytotechnologists analyze Liquid-based Paps and a wide variety of non-gynecological cytology specimens including thyroid, pancreas and lymph node fine needle aspirations. Most of the Cytologists' time is spent examining non-gynecologic specimens - with the emphasis is placed on quality and not quantity. The Cytopathologists are readily accessible and more than willing to discuss challenging cases.
We are currently in the process of designing a new Pathology/Cytology lab that will be approximately 60% larger than our current lab. The plans include separate offices for the Cytologists with close proximity to the specimen processing area and the Cytology lab assistants.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree with 20 semester hours in the biological sciences and successful completion of an accredited cytotechnology program is required
Experience
- None outside of licensure is required
Licensure/Certifications
- CT: Cytotechnologist required
- Must be ASCP registered or eligible
