Position Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of support functions for a department and/or program. Duties may include all or part of the following: Greeting, instructing, directing patients and visitors. Scheduling, registering, and obtaining preauthorization for treatment from insurance, Medicare or other agencies for patients. Serving as liaison between patient and medical support staff. Functioning as cashier, receptionist and referral clerk as well as maintaining records and completing data entry. Monitoring office services and supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous clerical, administrative, healthcare, or customer service experience, or equivalent education, is required
Required Skills
- Must demonstrate the ability to interact with personnel of all levels within the organization and work within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, possessing strong customer service skills
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong customer orientation and an outgoing, pleasant demeanor
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate teamwork to ensure a highly effective team, organize and implement assigned tasks
- Flexibility schedule to meet department needs for coverage
