Our imaging program is supervised by a board-certified radiologist who works directly with technicians at the hospital to interpret test results and offer guidance on complex cases.
The PET/CT Tech for Asante performs various diagnostic positron emission tomography (PET) and computerized tomographic (CT) examinations and procedures that require independent and professional judgment. In this role, the PET/CT Tech evaluates resulting films for quality; ensures the quality and continuity of patient care to include injection of radiopharmaceutical, patient positioning, reconstruction and network image transfers; assumes responsibility for designated assignments; and assists with the workflow of the department to ensure completion of work assignments.

What You'll Do
- Provide quality patient exams to ensure accuracy and to meet the needs of patients.
- Prior to conducting examinations, verify all orders to ensure appropriate exam is ordered and confirm with referring physicians and/or radiologists to clarify any questions.
- Obtain complete history, have appropriate previous studies available with written reports for complete comparisons, and obtain necessary laboratory test results for patient safety.
- Refer to radiologist on duty for all non-routine exams and orders and maintain correct technical factors for all pediatric cases as stated and posted in department.
- Complete all studies with regards to patient name, DOB, date of service and radiology number; ensure all contrast material administered is well documented; and ensure correct patient orientation is observed (left, right, supine, prone, etc.).
- Practice radiation safety for all patients, family, and staff to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills/Abilities
- Minimum 1 year of PET/CT and diagnostic experience.
- IV skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and competency in clinical area of practice.
- Ability to use all channels of communication to address inter- and intradepartmental concerns, solve problems, and address conflict.
- Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment and produce very high-quality imaging with minimal supervision.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Licensed in Radiography by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) with certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
- Certified in Nuclear Medicine - CNMT by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) - OR - ARRT (N) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- OBMI Temporary License in respective specialty may be considered. Permanent licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire prior to temporary license expiration.
- BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.
