Security Officer (Behavioral Health Unit) - Night Shifts
Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.9 (72 hours a pay period | Full Time | 3rd Shift - Nights / from 1730 to 0600. Weekends included and the schedule may be Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/ Mon.
As a Security Officer, you will also make extra money per hour (shift differentials) when working swing, night, and weekend hours.
Position Summary
The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees, and the protection of property. They will patrol assigned areas alert for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, or other situations or conditions which may affect the overall security of the organization.
Position Qualifications
Education
- Associate Degree in Criminology, Psychology, or related field, preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience is required.
- Please Note: Graduation from an approved law enforcement academy will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Taser Training: Employees must complete appropriate taser training before they are released to work any shifts. Information on this training will be provided upon hire.
Licensure/Certifications
- DPSST: Valid Temporary or Permanent Unarmed or Armed Security Certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training is required upon start.
