Position Summary
The Accreditation Specialist plans, coordinates, monitors, and advises on compliance with Federal, State, and Accreditation regulations to maintain quality and patient safety. This role manages activities necessary for attaining and maintaining accreditation and licensure, including assessments, audits, and improvement initiatives. Partnering with leaders, clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams, the specialist optimizes staff and facility readiness, facilitates surveys, coordinates action plans, manages and prioritizes projects, recommends evidence-informed best practices, and monitors results in alignment with the organization's survey readiness plan.
Position Qualifications
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare regulatory, compliance, quality improvement, accreditation, infection control, clinical practice/education as well as experience with accreditation readiness, policy development, performance improvement and/or regulatory compliance activities; driving regulatory and standards compliance and/or auditing, isrequired.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or relevant healthcare field OR Master's Degree in healthcare administration, or relevant healthcare field, is required.
- Master’s degree in healthcare related field, preferred.
Licensure/Certifications
- RN: Registered Nurse licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, preferred
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program (HACP) must be obtained within 2 years of hire
- CPPS: Certified Professional in Patient Safety, preferred
- PMP: Project Management Professional, preferred
- BLS: Basic Life Support, preferred
