Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Patient Service Rep (PSR) performs a variety of support functions for a department and/or program. Duties may include all or part of the following: Greeting, instructing, directing patients and visitors; scheduling, registering, and obtaining preauthorization for treatment from insurance, Medicare or other agencies for patients; serving as liaison between patient and medical support staff; functioning as cashier, receptionist and referral clerk as well as maintaining records and completing data entry; and monitoring office services and supplies.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
Experience
- Previous clerical/administrative experience, or previous clinical or hospital experience, required
Certifications
- BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 3 months
