Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.0 | Flexible Workforce/On Call | Variable Hours/Variable Days
For this position, coverage is needed for both day and night shifts - with the primary need being on night shifts. In this role, the Security Officer would cover the main hospital (12-hour shifts) and could also cover the Behavioral Health Unit (10-hour shifts). Flexibility to both day and night shifts as well as working weekends in required.
This Flexible Workforce position pays an additional 15% on top of the base hourly rate. You will also make extra money per hour (shift differentials) when working swing, night, and weekend hours:
- $2.25 extra per hour between 11:00pm and 7:00am (Nights)
- $1.33 extra per hour between 3:00pm and 11:00pm (Swing Shift)
- $1.16 extra per hour for weekend shifts
Position Summary
The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees, and the protection of property. They will patrol assigned areas alert for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, or other situations or conditions which may affect the overall security of the organization.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate Degree in Criminology, Psychology, or related field, preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience is required. Please Note: Graduation from an approved law enforcement academy will be considered in lieu of experience.
Taser Training: Employees must complete appropriate taser training before they are released to work any shifts. Information on this training will be provided upon hire.
Licensure/Certifications
- DPSST: Valid Temporary or Permanent Unarmed or Armed Security Certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training is required upon start.
- DL: Possession of a valid Driver ’s License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance is required. Must obtain Oregon Driver ’s License within 30 days of moving to Oregon (if applicable).
