The Systems Administrators for Asante are responsible for the operational support of network and host systems / applications owned or operated by Asante. These systems include, but are not limited to, Windows applications, Unix applications, client and server systems, network routing and switching, telephony systems, and security. Systems Administrators routinely act as support resources for projects and system implementations and provide training and individual assistance to system users. May also be focused in specific disciplines, (e.g. server operations, storage systems, network infrastructure, client workstations, application support, database administration, telephony system support).
Preferred Certifications:
CompTIA (A , CDIA , i-Net , Network , Server , Linux , IT Project , e-Biz , CTT , Security , HTI ), IBM Certified Specialist (various specializations), Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), OS/400 Certification, UNIX Certification.
Systems Administrator 1 - Position Overview
The Systems Administrator 1 follows established procedures to support existing systems/applications to meet the ITS goals of high availability, cost containment, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities may include system monitoring, data backup and restoration, application support, user account administration, routine maintenance activities, system security, and other administrative tasks as assigned. Also serves as Tier 1 and 2 technical support for designated systems.

The Systems Administrator 2 follows established procedures to support existing systems / applications to meet the ITS goals of high availability, cost containment, and operational efficiency, and develops new system support procedures for designated systems under the guidance of more senior technical resources. This may include the development or oversight of backup, maintenance, and security procedures, and coordination of the work of outside support specialists. Other responsibilities may include system monitoring, data backup and restoration, application support, user account administration, routine maintenance activities, system security, and other administrative tasks as assigned. Also serves as Tier 2 and 3 technical support for designated systems.

- Associate degree in Computer Science (or related field); or equivalent professional training in information systems, information technology, or technical support; or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field), preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in system and application administrative technical support providing knowledge of computer operating systems, systems monitoring, voice, data, and network communications systems and disaster recovery
- Experience or education providing an understanding of systems/applications administration and monitoring, and the proactive maintenance of network-based systems using industry best practices

- Associate degree in Computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field), preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in system and application administrative technical support in a 7x24 mission critical enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer operating systems, data storage systems, systems monitoring, voice, data, and network communications systems, and disaster recovery.
- A thorough understanding of systems/applications administration and monitoring, and the proactive maintenance of network-based systems using industry best practices.
