Overview :

A well-established hospitality facility located in the scenic Chelmsford area, approximately 25 miles northwest of Boston, is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Manager to lead and enhance its culinary and service operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the industry and the ability to elevate guest experiences while ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operational Leadership : Demonstrate a hands-on working knowledge of food and beverage operations, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain high-quality service and compliance.
  • Health and Safety Compliance : Implement and monitor strict adherence to state and local Board of Health regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols. Provide training to staff on industry-standard food and beverage practices to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
  • Staff Management : Develop effective staffing schedules that align with operational needs and budget constraints. Ensure thorough training and enforcement of closing duties to maintain cleanliness and organization. Address issues related to overstaffing and excessive labor hours to optimize efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance : Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all dining and kitchen areas. Ensure exceptional table service and a superior guest experience. Implement procedures to guarantee that all areas are properly cleaned and maintained, and that staff adhere to their closing duties.
  • Cost Control : Implement robust inventory and cost control measures to manage food and beverage expenses effectively. Monitor food costs and establish controls to minimize waste and overproduction.
  • Menu Development : Work with Chef to design and update menus that reflect current trends and meet guest expectations. Ensure that menu offerings are cost-effective and align with the establishment's brand and standards.
  • Team Collaboration : Foster a collaborative environment within Chef and the food and beverage department to achieve cohesive operations. Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and address any interdepartmental challenges.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in food and beverage management, preferably within upscale establishments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage standard operating procedures and health regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage effective staffing schedules.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and guest satisfaction.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
