ASARCO LLC is a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest Copper producers, Grupo Mexico, which ranks third in the United States in Copper production. ASARCO LLC is a fully integrated miner, smelter, and refinery of copper in the United States with over 2,800 employees spanning across five sites in Arizona and Texas.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in the mining industry. Our internship program is 10 weeks long, in which you will receive important industry training and get involved in meaningful real-world projects like planning a program, designing a process, or implementing technology. The culmination of your program will include an opportunity to present your work to management at ASARCO & Grupo Mexico.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Implement and participate in employee engagement initiatives.

Research and propose employee engagement strategies.

Create a new EAP benefit pamphlet.

Create a new-hire presentation and follow-up program.

Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Various other projects as assigned.

Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.

Time management skills in performing multiple projects with various team members.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings and make recommendations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis.

Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.

Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

Strong interest in human resources and organizational development.
