ASARCO (American Smelting and Refining Company), the U.S.-based subsidiary of Grupo México, is an integrated copper mining, smelting, and refining company with approximately 1,400 employees. Grupo Mexico is a transnational mining company with operations in the U.S., México, Spain, and Peru.
We are creating accelerated-growth Development programs for Engineering undergraduates who are looking to develop a long-term career plan in ASARCO Grupo México. Our Development program is tailored for Mining, Mechanical & Metallurgical engineers who will be able to choose between two career paths: Operational Leadership and Technical Leadership.
About the role:
- Rotational program to gain diverse experience in Supervision, Technical, and Maintenance activities on site.
- Maintenance rotation - Will gain experience to supervise maintenance crews at the Pit, Concentrator, and SXEW facilities
- Planner rotation – Will gain experience to execute Maintenance planning activities at the Pit, Concentrator, and SXEW facilities
- Technical rotation - Will gain experience to lead their own engineering/construction project
- Utilization of CAD Software
- Collaboration with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- A desire to be a leader, always to do your best, focus on continual improvement, and ongoing career learning
- Must have excellent computer skills with the ability to learn technical software
- Familiarity with statistical process control, structural analysis, the strength of material, fluids, and pumps
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, teamwork, and setting ongoing goals
