POSITION OVERVIEW

Ensure safe behavior within our staff while performing jobs, actively energize the team to meet production goals, and minimize overspending through your supervising efforts. Review tasks and work assessments, ensure jobs are being performed as described in the standard operation procedures, and provide solutions to operational issues. Provide training to new operators and ensuring mentorship of staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·         First level of supervision for Mill Operations hourly employees, thus immediately responsible of their actions or lack thereof.

·         Supervise milling process - crushing, grinding, flotation, filtering & tailings.

·         Communicate & coordinate closely with operators to achieve production goals.

·         Train, supervise, direct and support workforce in their activities to ensure production targets.

·         Communicate & coordinate closely with Mine Operations for steady production of mine ore deliveries to the crusher.

·         Inspect the equipment to determine status for repair or PM and initiate appropriate action. Creation of notifications to document the assessment.

·         Apply the total safety program and ensure regulatory compliance.

·         Administer the labor contract and handle all employee issues, grievances, inquiries.

·         Provide timekeeping, scheduling, work-order maintenance, and purchasing/warehouse input on work needed.

·         Conduct safety meetings with employees on topics relative to the operations.

·         Conduct area safety inspections and correct any problems identified.

·         Prepare paperwork for use in production reporting, such as record books, emails, turnover reports, equipment list, etc.  

·         Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety Program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·         Basic computer skills preferred.

·         1 year of knowledge and leadership within the milling process.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills.

·         Use of SAP is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·         High school graduate or GED required.

·         Engineering degree is preferred. (Mining, Metallurgy, Chemical, industrial, production, Mechanical, or closely related degrees).

·         2 years of experience in the milling process (grinding, flotation, thickeners, etc.).

·         English language fluency.

·         At least CEFR B2 - Upper Intermediate: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
