What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mine Engineering Technician I position at Asarco LLC?
POSITION OVERVIEW
Plan, schedule and implement the daily mine surveying activities at Silver Bell Mine.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Export designs from Mine planning software into Trimble Business Center into Trimble Data Collector for field work.
- Perform daily blast hole sampling.
- Assist in uploading pattern designs into the high precision drill systems.
- Surveys and establishes controls in and out of the pit.
- Assist in delineating ore / waste splits and staking controls in field.
- Establish elevation control at mining faces, haulage roads, and dump locations.
- Assist in layout waste dumps limits, haul roads, designs and maintain accurate progress maps.
- Assist Engineers with Monthly Close Surveys.
- Assist all departments on survey projects as needed.
- Assist in deployment of new surveying technologies.
- Drone piloting for surveying and imagery.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of practices and procedures in the Engineering Department.
- Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
