Job Duties: Collect daily production samples from the mine, mill, solvent extraction and electrowinning (SXEW), and leaching departments; Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including: Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS) instruments, X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) instruments, X-Ray Diractometers (XRDs); Utilize Laboratory software, such as DC-ARC OES and FT-NIR to analyze samples; Analyze and document assay results using quality assurance and quality control techniques; Generate and standardize analytical standards for laboratory instrumentation; Prepare mineral and copper samples using crushing, pulverizing, and homogenizing techniques; Conduct titrimetric analysis of samples; and Maintain the overall quality of work performed in sample preparation and the metallurgical laboratory.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field. 1 year of experience working as a quality control (QC) chemist, research and development (R&D), or environmental chemist. Experience standardizing testing techniques for specimen analysis. 1 year of experience testing raw mineral materials. 1 year of experience testing finished mineral products. 1 year of experience developing formulations for water drilling. 1 year of experience planning and performing validation testing.
