The purpose of the Corporate Senior Staff Accountant is to ensure an extraordinary client experience while creating client advocates and perform general accounting duties. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the daily supervision of the accounting department's transactions and staff, including assigning workload, monitoring performance, measuring results and recommending process improvements to increase efficiencies. This position is to assist the management team with general accounting duties including reconciliations as well as conduct various analyses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Reviews general ledger accounts Prepares and posts journal vouchers
Handles various processes and renewals relating to State and IRS regulations Conducts quarterly audits
Handles various account reconciliations Runs and prepares various reports Processes and reviews financial statements
Handles monthly recurring duties Attends weekly department meetings

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years dealership experience is required. Accounting Degree is not required, Prior experience managing a team and automotive industry accounting experience is preferred. Prefer an extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures; having strong accounting skills; being able to handle multiple projects in a given time, including during deadline periods; being a self-starter as well as a team player; having excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
