The IT Security Analyst helps identify and prevent cyber threats to Asbury by actively monitoring and maintaining several security related systems such as reviewing security alerts, anti-virus, patching, and vulnerability scanning and related systems. The Security Analyst works closely with the Director of Cybersecurity to create and implement IT security plans and procedures to continually enhance Asbury’s cyber security posture.
Duties / Responsibilities
Daily monitoring of security tools to protect sensitive information and systems (anti-virus, patching, firewalls, data encryption, SIEM, email protection, etc.)
Assists with the development and implementation of security standards and best practices for the organization
Recommends security enhancement to the Director of Cybersecurity
Monitors the organizations networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur
Familiarity with web and network related technologies
Aids and assists Tier I technicians and end users when IT security assistance is needed
Develops an understanding of IT audits and controls such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, SEC, FTC, etc.
Willingness to learn new technologies
Stays current on IT security trends and news
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiar with the FTC Safeguard Rule
Self-managed and motivated
Excellent communication skills and team oriented
Develops, maintains, and deploys security training which includes phishing training
Performs other related duties to benefit the mission / vision of the organization
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with degree preferred in Computer Science or Information technology systems security or related field or equivalent experience
Any of the following certifications : CompTIA A , Network , Security
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT field – IT security related experience preferred
