What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Aide position at Asbury Gardens?
Asbury Gardens, located in North Aurora, IL, is seeking an enthusiastic Activity Aide to join our team. This position offers a competitive compensation of $16 per hour.
Shift is 7am - 7pm on Tuesdays & Fridays and every other weekend AND 8am-12pm & 1pm-5pm alternately, every month on Thursdays.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Director of Activities in planning and implementing a well-rounded activity program.
- Leads programs and encourages resident participation.
- Assists with special events, theme days and facility celebrations.
- Familiarity with crafts, games and the interests of the resident population.
- Ability to be creative, to develop new program ideas, and to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Works in a cooperative manner with other departments and volunteers.
- Shares responsibility of keeping equipment and storage areas in proper condition.
- Communicate in a positive and cooperative manner with all staff, management, residents, and family members and outside entities consistent with the policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director or Administrator
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
- Compassionate and patient when working with residents.
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
