HOURS: 7AM-7PM & EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
SALARY: $28.00/HOUR

Responsibilities
- Observe resident’s condition and response to treatment and take necessary and appropriate action as required.
- Recognize and report significant resident condition changes and take appropriate nursing action.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately according to facility policy and procedure.
- Participate in observation of nurse aide performance.
- Transcribe physician’s telephone and written orders accurately.
- Document nursing care rendered, resident response to treatment, and other pertinent resident data in the medical record.
- Attend facility in-services to remain current in nursing practice.
- Practice acceptable infection control procedures, specifically hand washing, universal precaution isolation, aseptic, and sterile dressing technique.
- Adhere to all facility and department safety policies and procedures.
- Assist patient in performance of ADL skills.
- Provide input for the development of individualized care plans and implement accordingly.
- Supervise nursing assistants with various assignments.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved L.P.N. training program.
- Illinois license as a Trained Practical Nurse.
- Advanced course in the administration of medications is desirable.
- Employee must have had no abuse convictions.
- Ability to communicate and work well with patients and staff members.
- Ability to follow facility policies and procedures.
- Ability to remain current in practice as applicable to job.
- Ability to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, mentally ill, emotionally upset and at times hostile and violent residents within the facility.
