Position Title: Hospitality Assistant
Department: Admissions
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Reports to: Director of Admissions
Hours: Maximum 20 hours per week
Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
Position Summary:
The Hospitality Assistant serves as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, and staff entering the building, as well as for incoming calls to Asbury Theological Seminary. This individual plays a key role in creating a warm and welcoming environment while delivering outstanding customer service. They will ensure a seamless transition for guests, efficiently directing them to the appropriate personnel or department while maintaining a professional and hospitable atmosphere.
Essential Functions:
- Switchboard & Communication:
- Serve as the Seminary’s primary switchboard operator, answering and directing calls promptly and courteously.
- Respond to general inquiries, providing accurate information or connecting callers to the appropriate department.
- Front Desk & Reception:
- Greet and assist all visitors, students, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area.
- Provide information and directions as needed.
- Customer Service & Support:
- Act as the first-impressions representative for the Enrollment Management Team (EMT), ensuring all interactions reflect the Seminary’s commitment to hospitality and service.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Admissions to enhance the experience of prospective and current students.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks, including transcript reviews, preparing campus visit files, and other related duties.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong customer service skills with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer literacy.
