Position Overview: ASC Electronics is seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our accounting, financial, and payroll operations. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, internal controls, and payroll management. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, driving process improvements, and supporting ASC’s growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop financial plans.
- Prepare financial forecasts and monitor performance, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
- Compliance & Internal Controls:
- Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage external audits and ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and reporting requirements.
- Payroll Management:
- Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate salary, wage, and bonus payments.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related tax regulations (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
- Manage payroll systems and vendors, integrating seamlessly with accounting and HR systems.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting and payroll teams.
- Assign and review tasks, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy.
- Provide professional development opportunities for team members.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting and payroll operations.
- Streamline systems to improve accuracy and reduce closing timelines.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Collaborate on financial strategies and long-term planning with management.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll management.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks; experience with other software like SAP, Oracle, or Zoho is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and payroll regulations.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and communication skills.
