Description
The Cleaning Line/Kettle Operator (2nd Shift) uses a hand-operated crane to run tumblers or baskets of threaded parts through a series of cleaning tanks to remove oil and any other foreign material.
The cleaning line operator is responsible for making sure that threaded parts are properly cleaned before going to the shipping department. The operator must maintain nine tanks containing various chemicals. Tubs or baskets of product are delivered to the cleaning line operator a forklift driver. A hand-operated crane is used to dump the parts into tumblers or attached to baskets & cradles, which are then dipped into the various tanks.
The operator is responsible for maintaining proper chemical levels and temperatures in the tanks. The chemical levels must be checked daily. The operator is also responsible for periodically changing the chemicals and cleaning the tanks. Operator inspection consists of a visual check of each barrel to confirm that the nipples are clean and free of chips, dirt and rust; and that there is a uniform rust preventative coating applied to the parts. Must have knowledge of the type of bin or container to put finished product into.
The Operator uses a dolly to move kettles of finished parts and cutting from various machines to the separator, then replaces the removed kettle with an empty one.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Requires constant standing and walking (up to 10 hours per day)
- Repetitive use of both hands (up to 10 hours per day)
- Repetitive reaching at, below and above waist level up
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- An awareness of moving parts
- Ability to work in hot environment

- Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm
