Vocational Nurse (LVN) for Texas Home and Community-based Services (HCS) program.
Role Overview:
- An LVN in the Texas HCS program plays a crucial role in providing healthcare services to individuals served by the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Waiver Services.
- They collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of clients
Responsibilities:
- Screening: The LVN assesses clients’ health needs and identifies any specific requirements.
- Implementation and Monitoring: They organize, implement, and monitor a range of health services for clients.
- Treatment and Training: LVNs follow the treatment plan outlined in the individual’s Implementation Plan.
- Collaboration: They work closely with other team members to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
Supervision and Scope:
- LVNs practice under the supervision of an RN, advanced practice nurse (APRN), physician, podiatrist, dentist, or physician assistant (PA).
- LVNs have a directed scope of practice, which includes tasks related to medication administration.
- The supervision requirement ensures safe and effective care delivery.
