Content Summary : Copy Editor at Washington, for Ascella Technologies, Inc.We are currently seeking Copy Editors to support our Federal client with reviewing finished intelligence papers prior to publication and dissemination. This role requires 100% on-site support in Tysons Corner.

What you will be doing

Recommending edits to draft papers, graphics, and other products to improve quality and ensure products are editorially correct without altering technical accuracy or meaning
Ensuring products conform to client's policy guidance and style standards
Applying writing standards, critical thinking skills, and expertise in grammar, punctuation, and copyediting to identify and resolve editorial issues and inconsistencies in complex text and graphics
Revising corporate style guidance as necessary
Developing and recommending editorial and publishing policies and practices along with standard operation procedures for editing and / or publishing

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in in English, writing, or a related field (years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree)

2-6 years of copyediting experience

Experience reviewing written products for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to style guidelines

Experience performing copyedit reviews of intelligence products, including classification portion markings and endnotes

Knowledge of Intelligence Community agency / office style guides

Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must

Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and carry out projects through to completion with minimal supervision

Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Demonstrated analytical, reasoning, planning, and problem-solving abilities

Self-motivated, proactive, and independent thinker with high energy / positive attitude

U.S. Citizenship required

Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required

Position : Copy Editor

Location : Tysons Corner

Base Compensation : We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and we are open to discussing compensation based on your qualifications and experience

Other Compensation : 4% contribution to 401(k), performance bonus, profit-sharing

Paid Time Off : 16 days PTO / year, 11 holidays / year
