Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and shipped efficiently and accurately. The Warehouse Operations Manager will also supervise the supply chain associates.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and proper storage
- Implement inventory control systems to maintain optimal stock levels
- Conduct regular stock counts (e.g., cycle counts, annual audits) to verify inventory accuracy
- Track and manage inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Hire, train, and supervise warehouse staff (e.g., warehouse workers, forklift operators)
- Develop work schedules and allocate tasks to ensure efficient operations
- Lead, motivate, and supervise production teams, including operators, technicians, and assembly workers
- Set performance targets for the team and monitor their performance regularly
- Conduct regular meetings to communicate objectives, address concerns, and resolve issues
- Plan and optimize the layout of the warehouse to improve efficiency and space utilization
- Ensure products are stored correctly according to type, size, and frequency of use
- Monitor and adjust product flow, ensuring that the warehouse operates smoothly
- Oversee the order picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment
- Ensure that inbound and outbound shipments are processed efficiently
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies, including safe handling and storage of materials
- Provide training to staff on warehouse safety protocols, equipment operation, and emergency procedures
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safety rules
- Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, and other machinery
- Ensure equipment is regularly inspected, repaired, and maintained to minimize downtime.
- Manage the procurement of new equipment as needed and ensure proper training for its use
- Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall warehouse productivity
- Identify and assess potential risks in warehouse operations, such as safety hazards, inventory loss, or supply chain disruptions
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and minimize operational downtime
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to warehouse operations
- Develop production schedules based on customer orders, demand forecasts, and available resources
- Allocate resources (materials, labor, equipment) efficiently to meet production targets
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., purchasing, logistics) to ensure timely delivery of raw materials
- Ensure smooth and continuous production operations by balancing demand vs. capacity
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in the production process and work to resolve them quickly
- Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime
- Ensure adherence to the set production procedures and standards
- Experienced in ERP systems and navigation.
- Understand BOM (Bill of Materials) structures and setups
- Work Order lifecycle management
- Assist with the introduction of new products by providing feedback on manufacturability, cost, and production timelines
- Work with functional teams to design efficient production processes for new products
- 5 years experience in relevant field
- Bachelor’s degree in related area
- Customer service focused and professional attitude
- Ability to solve problems, prioritize and multi-task
- Willing to work outside normal business hours as needed
- Work with little to no supervision and lead others effectively
- Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
- Excellent verbal, typing, & written communication skills
- Keenly attentive to detail
- Advance level of proficiency with computer software programs
- Experience with ERP systems, fundamental and transactional
- Excel proficient
Compensation:
- $120,000-$155,000
- Salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to individual competencies, education/professional certifications, experience, and performance in this role
