We perform new business and recurring collateral exams on our clients’ borrowers, to help identify and mitigate potential risks concerning pledged collateral. JOB DESCRIPTION :

The field examiner will be responsible for performing field examinations and due-diligence projects to support our clients’ loan portfolios. This will primarily involve conducting on-site (and remote) collateral audits, typically covering accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, cash, financials, insurance, and taxes. Specific activities will include :

  • Conduct new business and recurring field audits on our clients’ borrowers.
  • Collect and consolidate a series of data and reports provided by the Company.
  • Analyze trends, conduct sample testing, and generate a thorough understanding of the Company’s collateral base and assess potential collateral risk and lender exposure.
  • Effectively communicate with our clients borrowers (Manager to C-Level Executives), our clients (Lenders) and Ascend Management on a daily basis.
  • Complete field examinations in a timely manner while maintaining Ascend’s reputation for quality.

  • Ability to be flexible and manage multiple concurrent objectives and / or projects, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly analytical, capable of preparing / manipulating data to summarize & understanding trends / statistics.
  • Strong communication skillset, capable of leading discussions with the Company, Lender and Management.
  • Exceptional writing skills, capable of writing a reports weekly and effectively communicating findings.
  • Can do” attitude with the capacity of pivoting and / or thinking outside the box.

    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience in a related field (internships included).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Sumifs, If statements).
  • General understanding of accounting and financial statements.
  • Willingness and desire to travel up to ~ 25%.
  • A valid U.S. Driver’s License

    • ADDITIONAL DETAIL :

  • Budgeted compensation between $50K - $70K depending on experience.
  • Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, 401K and HSA.
  • Potential bonus incentives, based on individual performance.
