What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Ascend Infrastructure?
The Controller is responsible for budget management, financial analysis, accurate and timely financial reporting; ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are in place and in compliance with accounting principles and procedures. The controller provides direction to the accounting department for accounts payable, accounts receivables, and credit/collection. This position also works in collaboration with private equity operating partner.

2. Prepare financial forecasting to include annual budgets in an accurate and timely manner.

- Monitor the financial performance of the company, to include communicating financial metrics to senior leaders.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Record all banking-related transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare financial reporting statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare 13-week cash flow on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate and ensure approvals for weekly payments.
- Record journal entries for monthly expense reports.
- Record weekly payroll journal entries.
- Prepare annual operating budgets.
- Develop and manage financial controls and processes in accordance with the company’s procedures.
- Manage annual financial audits. Responsible for responding to any tax audits.
- Provide all the information necessary to complete annual income tax returns.
- Insure all local and state property and sales tax returns, business licenses etc. are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide P & L by site to project managers, accounting support for project costing.
- Provide leadership and support to accounting staff.
- Manage banking relationships to include preparing any bank loan requirements.
- Assist with the property & casualty insurance annual renewal.
- Complete credit applications as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills; Proficient with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to multi- task.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present to all levels of the company.
- Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to work closely with a senior management team.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and understand and abide by the unique demands of confidentiality.
- Knowledge with modern financial systems or platforms.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years’ accounting experience with a minimum 1-year construction experience.
- Minimum 1 year construction experience
