Job Description:
The ER Physician will work in a 12-bed Emergency Department located within a 25-bed critical access hospital. The ED is staffed with an EM physician and 3 RNs, with the addition of medical residents rotating through the department from July 2024. This rural hospital sees a similar caseload to larger hospitals but with lower volumes.
The ideal candidate must possess AR licensure, ACLS, and ATLS certification at the time of presentation. Key responsibilities include treating patients with common emergency conditions, such as conscious sedation, intubation, chest tube placement, laceration repair, central line placement, suturing, I&D procedures, dental blocks, foreign body removal, reductions, cardioversion, codes, Stroke and STEMI cases, and pediatric and adult care. A strong focus on quality patient care and timely treatment is essential.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a smaller, community-based setting while maintaining the skills and expertise required for advanced emergency medicine practices.
