Intake Coordinator
Job Objective:
This is a unique position that provides initial pre-screening via telephone and/or walk-ins for program eligibility with families seeking agency assistance, providing agency information, connecting clients with the appropriate internal or external resources while recommending families for Charlotte Family Housing's program.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting and welcoming all walk-ins of clients, volunteers, and other professionals
- Provide the first line of screening for all incoming calls and directing all inquires
- Completes a pre-screening assessment to determine a person's eligibility for services, collecting all required paperwork along with the referral and scheduling the interview
- Manages all referrals and relationships with partner referral agencies
- Attend monthly Coordinated Entry meetings as scheduled
- Maintain accurate, complete and confidential data records that reflect assessment and outcomes
- Position includes some clerical duties
- Engage and establish rapport by interactions with clients
- Attend scheduled All-Staff and Resident Advisor team meetings
- Participate in on-going training as scheduled
- Perform other related work as required
Qualifications:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must have attention to details and great organizational skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the homeless population.
- Must be able to work holidays and irregular work hours.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and serve a very diverse population with aptitude in the areas of conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with families, volunteers, co-workers, and with representatives of other agencies and programs.
- Knowledge of social services resources in Mecklenburg County available.
- Proficient in computer and standard office software including Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Reliable and dependable transportation. Must have valid driver's license and insured transportation.
Requirements:
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in social services field from an accredited school and one year of related experience. An Associate's degree in social services field from an accredited school and three years of relate experience will be considered.
