Role Overview
The Infant Development Program Assistant supports our outpatient clinic’s clinical and administrative functions while working closely with the Clinical Director to assist with clinical and administrative inquiries, operational support, and program development.
This position involves direct engagement with staff members, infants, toddlers, and their families while assisting with program coordination, scheduling, documentation, staff coaching, conflict resolution, and executing key initiatives in the preschool setting.
The ideal candidate has experience working with young children, understands developmental milestones, and is highly organized, communicative, adaptable, and skilled in managing interpersonal dynamics.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Work directly with the Clinical Director, assisting with clinical and administrative inquiries, program coordination, and operational support.
- Provide real-time assistance to clinical staff, addressing day-to-day challenges and ensuring smooth program execution.
- Support the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures in collaboration with leadership.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with early intervention standards, confidentiality regulations, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist Infant Development Specialists in delivering developmental interventions for children ages 0-3.
- Engage with infants and toddlers in play-based learning activities that support cognitive, motor, communication, and social-emotional development.
- Support families by providing resources, guidance, and hands-on demonstrations of early learning techniques.
- Observe and document child progress in alignment with their Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of child progress, session notes, and program data.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation required for early intervention services.
- Communicate with families to confirm appointments, provide updates, and ensure service continuity.
- Handle conflicts within the preschool environment, ensuring a positive, supportive, and structured atmosphere for both staff and children.
- Coach and mentor preschool staff, providing guidance on best practices for child development, behavior management, and early intervention techniques.
- Support program operations, including supply management, event coordination, and general administrative tasks.
- Provide feedback to staff when needed, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance while handling sensitive child and family information.
- Read situations and execute solutions to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of staff and children.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented in managing paperwork and executing projects in a timely manner.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience working with infants/toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Experience in home-based intervention or early childhood programs is a plus.
- Experience in staff coaching, training, or conflict resolution in a preschool or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of typical and atypical child development.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to engage with young children in a compassionate, playful, and developmentally appropriate manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle interpersonal challenges among staff and families professionally and constructively.
- Leadership and coaching skills to support preschool staff development.
- Ability to analyze situations and execute effective solutions to support the well-being of staff and children.
- Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects efficiently.
- Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to travel between clinic locations and home visits as needed.
