What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor for Children position at Ascend Services?
We are seeking experienced dance instructors to assist in a dynamic dance class setting. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young dancers, share your expertise, and contribute to our June recital. If you excel in teaching multiple dance styles, love working with children, and have a flair for choreography, we’d love to hear from you!Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging and interactive dance classes for students of various ages and abilities.
- Focus on building students’ technical skills while encouraging creativity and artistic expression.
- Assist with or create choreography for our annual June recital.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in all teaching commitments.
- Provide a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
- Prior experience teaching dance to children is essential.
- Proficiency and teaching experience in at least 3 of the following styles: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary/Modern, or Creative Movement.
- Commitment to teaching children of all abilities, including those with disabilities, and adapting instruction to individual needs.
- Availability on Tuesdays and Saturdays (preferred).
- Ability to commit to a minimum of one year, including participation in the June recital.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate young dancers.
