Truck Driver Job Overview
We are seeking experienced CDL-A truck drivers to join our team at Ascend. As a short haul truck driver, you will have the opportunity to drive in a safe and reliable environment, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
Salary and Benefits
- Earning opportunities: Yard/Shuttle drivers earn $19 per hour, Local route drivers earn 26%, averaging $1,200 per week, and 2 night lay out drivers average $1,162 per week.
- One day paid orientation.
- Seven paid holidays - $150 per day (paid same as office staff).
Job Description
As a CDL-A truck driver for Ascend, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating a tractor-trailer combination safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate records of shipments and deliveries.
- Communicating effectively with dispatchers and other drivers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license.
- At least six months over-the-road experience.
- No more than two preventable accidents in the most recent three-year driving period.
- Ability to meet and pass all medical/DOT requirements.
