Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team and ideally be able to grow to Controller. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably within a law firm setting, and proficiency with SurePoint (formerly known as Rippe & Kingston) is a plus. Key Responsibilities:
Assistant Controller
" Assist the Controller in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
" Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
" Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
" Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial reports.
" Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
" Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
" Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
" Collaborate with other departments to support overall firm objectives.
" Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
" Oversee Billing Specalist and AP/GL Assistant; act as backup as needed.
Qualifications:
" Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
" CPA certification preferred.
" Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
" Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment is highly desirable.
" Proficiency with SurePoint (Rippe & Kingston) is preferred
" Experience with Billing a plus
" Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
" Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
" Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
" Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
" Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
