Senior Business Analyst (Hybrid 4 Days Remote)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced senior business analyst to join our team on a long-term contract in Austin, Texas. This hybrid position allows for four days of remote work with one day onsite per week. The selected candidate will perform advanced-level business analysis, supporting multiple projects or special assignments as needed.

The business analyst will serve as a liaison between the customer community and the software development team, ensuring that requirements are effectively gathered, documented, and managed throughout the entire software development life cycle (SDLC). Post-implementation, the analyst will also support requirements for system enhancements and improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit and document business and system requirements through customer interviews and stakeholder engagement.
• Serve as a bridge between business users and development teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements.
• Develop user stories, use cases, and requirements documents following business analysis best practices.
• Lead business process re-engineering and software process flow improvements to optimize system functionality.
• Design mockups and wireframes in alignment with UX best practices.
• Verify the fulfillment of all system requirements, including enhancements post-implementation.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 years of experience eliciting requirements from customer interviews and creating well-written system requirements documents.
• 8 years of experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvements.
• 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases following industry best practices.
• 8 years of experience designing mockups and wireframes in accordance with UX best practices.
• 5 years of experience demonstrating strong communication and facilitation skills.
• 5 years of experience with strong writing and organizational skills.
  
  

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 3 years of experience using Modern Requirements for requirements management.
• 3 years of experience using Atlassian Jira for issue tracking.
• 2 years of experience working with TEA (Texas Education Agency) or another state or local education agency.
