What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychologist – Remote to Australia position at Ascending Psychology?
The Role:
As a independent contractor psychologist at Ascending Psychology, you will:
- Provide face-to-face therapy and/or assessments (individual and group) in our established private practice.
- Receive full administrative and billing support—focus on your clients, not paperwork.
- Be part of a collaborative team of experienced professionals in a dynamic clinical setting.
- Relocate to Australia with our support for the transition from the principal psychologist who completed this migration from the US himself.
Who We’re Looking For:
✅ Licensed psychologist (U.S.-licensed, eligible for transition to Australian practice via AHPRA registration).
✅ Experience with existential, psychodynamic, child psych, psych assessments in private practice, or group therapy is highly valued. Other modalities welcome - the point is you're good at client engagement and retention.
✅ Willingness to relocate to Australia—this is not a remote or telehealth role.
✅ Open to working in a private practice setting with a diverse client base.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD strongly preferred)
- Experience in psychotherapy and mental health counseling - private practice preferred.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and psychological testing valued as there are lots of opportunities.
- Experience in child and family counseling, particularly with children and neurodivergent presentations valued as there are lots of opportunities.
