Our esteemed client in Middlesex County, New Jersey is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to join their dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the growth and success of our company. As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will oversee the accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments to vendors, managing day-to-day AP operations, and supervising a team of accounts payable clerks. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in accounts payable management, preferably in a wholesale or similar industry, and demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily accounts payable functions, including the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor reconciliations.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounts payable clerks, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Review and approve accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounts payable operations.
- Monitor vendor accounts and resolve any issues related to billing discrepancies or payment terms.
- Prepare reports on accounts payable activities, outstanding invoices, and cash flow projections for management review.
- Collaborate with other departments, including procurement and finance, to ensure smooth coordination of financial activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial audits and provide necessary documentation related to accounts payable.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting related to vendor payments.
- Maintain and foster positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices, preferably in the wholesale or similar industry.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to resolve complex issues and handle vendor inquiries professionally.
