This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, managing tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate and partnership taxation, particularly within the construction or real estate sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, including corporate (1120), partnership (1065), and individual filings.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize financial performance and minimize liabilities.
- Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with changing tax laws and regulations.
- Manage tax audits and work closely with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Oversee tax planning for construction projects, including cost segregation and depreciation analysis.
- Maintain accurate tax records and ensure timely tax payments and filings.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of tax planning with overall financial strategy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in tax reporting and compliance.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification required.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
- 5 years of tax accounting experience, preferably in construction, real estate, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and partnership tax regulations, including GAAP and tax code compliance.
- Proficiency in tax software and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, ProSystem fx, CCH, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external advisors.
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
