What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fund Accountant position at Ascendo Resources?
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to manage and rotate responsibilities:
- Prepare mid-month and end-of-month NAV packs, including NAV calculations to shadow the Administrator.
- Review cash, dividend, and P&L reconciliations to support accurate NAV reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end audits and the preparation of financial statements for the funds.
- Support year-end tax compliance processes.
- Handle treasury responsibilities, including maintaining adequate margin at counterparties and understanding margin rules and methodologies.
- Liaise with prime brokers, administrators, and auditors to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare regulatory filings such as Form PF, PQR, BE-185, and others as required.
- Provide financial data to third parties, including investors and trading counterparties.
- Participate in new product launches, ensuring seamless integration into existing fund accounting systems.
- Lead ad hoc projects to improve efficiencies and revamp processes within the group.
Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably from a top-tier public accounting firm with a focus on investment managers.
- Experience pulling the NAV rather than analyzing the NAV is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field from an excellent academic program; CPA designation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and research skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and execution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Geneva or similar accounting systems is preferred.
