What are the responsibilities and job description for the KYC Analyst position at Ascendo Resources?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated KYC Analyst to join a growing banking team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing thorough customer due diligence, verifying the identity of new and existing clients, and ensuring that our bank complies with all regulatory requirements related to anti-money laundering (AML) and customer onboarding. The KYC Analyst plays a crucial role in preventing financial crimes and ensuring the bank’s integrity and reputation are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) for new and existing clients to assess and verify their identity, background, and risk profile.
- Review and verify KYC documentation provided by clients to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illicit activities.
- Monitor and analyze transactions for any suspicious activity, reporting findings to the AML team for further investigation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date KYC records for all clients in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing and submitting reports related to KYC reviews and suspicious activity.
- Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in KYC, AML, or financial crime compliance in a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of KYC regulations, AML policies, and financial crime prevention frameworks.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and other applicable regulations.
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in using compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
