Quality Manager – In Aviation Repair & Production Assembly

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and maintain compliance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station regulations and Production Assembly activities, with future expansion into Part 21 PMA operations. This role is critical in ensuring adherence to AS9100 standards, company Quality Management Systems (QMS), and customer quality requirements. The Quality Manager will oversee internal and external audits, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement while managing and developing the quality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Compliance & Management
- Implement and manage the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Program to ensure compliance with FAA Part 145, future Part 21 PMA, and AS9100 standards.
- Ensure quality control functions align with FAA regulations (FARs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins, and customer requirements.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of quality programs.
- Oversee the inspection program (incoming, in-process, and final) for both Repair Station and Production Assembly operations.
- Audits, Inspections & Process Improvements
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure regulatory and customer compliance.
- Lead Corrective Action Response (CAR) efforts and drive root cause analysis for continuous improvement.
- Supervise and develop Chief Inspectors to ensure effective execution of quality-related responsibilities.
- Oversee the tool calibration program and ensure proper documentation and maintenance.
- Manage the training program for Part 145 and future Part 21 operations to meet current and future compliance requirements.
- Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison with FAA, EASA, and other Civil Aviation Authorities on quality matters.
- Ensure proper documentation of aircraft and engine data in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
- Work closely with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and maintain high standards of service.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5-10 years of aviation experience, with at least 2 years in a QA/QC role and 2 years in a management position.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate with Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Experience with EASA regulations is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 (implementation experience preferred); AS9110 knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Infor, SAP, or RAMCO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
