ROLE SUMMARY: At Ascendum, the Financial Analyst conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects. This role involves collecting and analyzing financial data for assigned accounts, products, or business units to track the organization’s progress against financial goals. The analyst will assist in financial planning, reporting, and decision-making processes by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional travel (up to 10%).

- Collect and analyze financial data related to budgets, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments.
- Report current and expected financial performance and create financial models to guide decision-making.
- Conduct variance analysis and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and cost-benefit analyses to support business planning.
- Analyze cash flow and profitability to make recommendations regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial reporting processes and business efficiencies.
- Assist in financial audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Monitor economic trends and industry changes that could impact financial performance.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Experience and/or Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Computer Skills: The employee must be proficient with computers and software required to accomplish the responsibilities of this position. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, analysis, and cost structures.
- Familiarity with financial software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in financial modeling and cost analysis.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and financial forecasting techniques.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, and internal teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
