What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Technician position at Ascendum Machinery?
POSITION SUMMARY : The Shop Technician provides timely completion of repairs and maintenance to various construction equipment and machinery within shop at Ascendum Branch locations, according to established procedures, while maintaining good working relationships with customers and co-workers.
FLSA STATUS : The U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires employers to classify their employees as being either exempt or non-exempt for the purpose of being paid overtime wages. The essential duties of this job are such that the employee is classified according to the FLSA as a Non-Exempt employee.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS : Up to 10%

RESPONSIBILITIES : Satisfactorily performing and / or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.
- Repair and service machinery for complete customer satisfaction.
- Maintain, safely operate, and care for company-owned tools and equipment per company requirements.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all safety training, product training, and service department goals.
- Complete assigned work with minimum re-work.
- Order parts and materials through Ascendum Parts to complete work assignments.
- Ensure all company safety requirements are followed at all times.
- Complete all required paperwork and maintain records / photos / other materials as required, for example, time clocking or collection records, SOC reports.
- Maintain shop and yard cleanliness.
- Promptly report any unsafe conditions, including those related to tools, the facility, or employee actions.
- Adhere to instruction / direction of supervisor.
- Seek formal and informal performance assessments, including performance versus expectations.
- Actively participate in required training, development programs, and electives as suits one's needs.
- Respond positively to other duties that may be assigned in the scope of the job.
