Position Summary :
The Material Handler I is responsible for specialized tasks in manufacturing to assure that production lines have an adequate supply of components and work cell uptime is maximized.
Location : Kalamazoo, MI
What you will be doing :
Wrap and stage finished good pallets in warehouse
Provide components to each work center along route
Remove cardboard / trash from work centers each shift
Fill hoppers with caps and jars, when necessary and available
Assist team in line clearance activities, when necessary and available
Lift heavy items and operate forklift, pallet mover, and / or order processor / selector
Ability to wear fall protection, as needed, and comply with fall protection standards
Responsible for 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to keeping a clean and safe work environment
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as documented and trained
Will perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Skills you will need :
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift, push and / or pull, up to 50 lbs
Must be able to speak, read, and write (legibly) in the English language
Must have basic computer skills
Ability to be respirator trained
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable and maintain a positive attitude
Ability to clearly document required information
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as documented and trained
Experience with working in chemical manufacturing, preferred
Ability to work overtime as required
