Job Summary:
The Home Health Occupational Therapist - PRN is responsible for modeling Compassus values and promoting the Compassus philosophy using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. The therapist upholds the Code of Ethical Conduct, promotes positive working relationships, and provides quality rehabilitative occupational therapy to clients. S/he initiates planned, purposeful activity designed to enhance physical and psychosocial functioning of the client.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in developing occupational therapy plans of care for patients. Conduct assessments and evaluations, communicate with physicians as needed, and complete OASIS assessments when appropriate. Implement treatment plans, provide education to patients and families, and evaluate outcomes. Supervise paraprofessionals as needed and plan for patient discharge. May participate in agency quality improvement programs. Ensure the growth and profitability of the company through responsible resource use and community education. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care, exchange information, problem-solve, and receive staff support and education. Apply policies and procedures of the agency and regulatory agencies to provide care. Willingly accept direction from Director of Clinical Services or Director of Therapy. Meet or exceed established productivity standards. Record patient information timely in the electronic medical record. Provide skilled restorative treatment to enhance physical function, pain management, sensory integration, and compensatory techniques for ADLs. Participate in agency quality improvement programs when requested. Ensure all care is provided with respect for patient rights. Report grievances and complaints to the appropriate persons. Follow standard precautions and infection control procedures.
