RESPONSIBILITIES
The Infant Teacher will:
Foster Relationships
- Maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to cultivate a school environment that is welcoming and nurturing for every child.
Plan Activities
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote sensory exploration, motor skills, and social interaction.
- Monitor and document each child’s development progress, identifying milestones and areas for growth.
- Assist with daily routines, including feeding, diapering, and nap time, ensuring that each child’s needs are met.
Maintain Environment
- Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of the facility and all equipment for children’s use.
- Foster a classroom environment that actively encourages parental involvement.
- Deliver reports on potential concerns about the students to management as needed.
Professional Development
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1-year experience working with infant/toddlers and/or preschoolers in an approved setting or 1 year of college (30 semester hours) or combination of experience and college equal to 1 year
- Must have a caring and nurturing attitude towards children
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must meet all suitability for employment criteria set by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) including criminal background check and medical report
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is preferred
- High School Diploma, certificate of high school equivalency or successful completion of college courses for credit
- 6 semester, 90 clock hours or equivalent of approved early childhood coursework and 3 semester, 45 clock hours or the equivalent of approved infant/toddler coursework or 6 semester, 90 clock hours or equivalent of infant/toddler specific coursework
- At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public
- Approved training in supporting breastfeeding practices
- 3 clock hours in ADA Compliance
- Must have Medication Administration Certification
- Must have CPR First Aid Certification
- Basic health and safety training
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
- Ability to interact with the children and all staff members physically and verbally.
- Ability to perform the following physical activities: stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, and bend.
- At times, be able to lift amounts up to 50lbs.

- Monday-Friday: 7:30am-4:00pm
SALARY
Compensation will be determined by the candidate’s level of education and experience!
- $16.00-$18.00/hourly
