The Lead Medical Assistant is required to perform all duties of a Medical Assistant and functions as a resource for the Medical Assistants, Patient Representative team and other non- licensed associates.   The Lead Medical Assistant works collaboratively with the teams to drive Quality Improvement initiatives and performance improvement.  The Lead Medical Assistant reports to the Operations Manager and keeps them abreast of concerns and issues that may impact the provision of safe patient care.    /pp style='margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:16px;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;line-height:150%;' /pp style='margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:16px;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;'stronguDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES/u/strong/pp style='margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:16px;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;'br/pul style="list-style-type: undefined;margin-left:0in;"liIs knowledgeable of and applies the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension DePaul Services/liliServes as patients’ primary point of contact for clinical services provided within the health center/liliWorks closely and collaboratively with Patient Access Supervisors and Providers to assure smooth clinical operations./liliWorks with the Medical Assistant Clinical Trainer on the orientation of new hires and a warm hand off at the completion of orientation./liliEnsures Medical Assistants provide a positive experience for patients and safe care.   Helps to resolve patient issues./liliPromotes teamwork and a positive attitude amongst all associates.  /liliProvides backup support to Medical Assistants which includes lunch coverage on the floor and when needed./liliActs as the first level go-to person for the providers and staff regarding investigating and troubleshooting issues./liliProvides and documents routine inspections of clinical equipment; ensures proper cleaning and storage of equipment./liliConducts daily checks of exam rooms for standard stocking and cleanliness/liliMay serve as the onsite VOMS personnel and liaison between DePaul and VFC./liliUses established channels of communication and proper lines of authority for problem solving and communication./liliSupervises medical assistants and laboratory technicians.  Provide on-going valuable, objective, and constructive feedback regarding job performance./liliAssures efficient flow of operations to reduce wait times for patients within the health center./liliCompletes Medical Assistant chart checks for accuracy and completeness.  /liliOversees daily quality control/liliMay participate in the interview and selection process of MA applicants./liliAssists Operations Manager in developing the weekly MA work schedules./liliCollaborates with Operations Manager on performance evaluations for assigned MAs/liliServes as site EMR super-user and provides training, update information and other key communications regarding the EMR./li/ulp style='margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:16px;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;line-height:150%;'span style="font-size:15px;line-height:150%;" /span/pp style='margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:16px;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;line-height:150%;'stronguPHYSICAL DEMANDS/u/strong/pp style='margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:16px;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;'span style="font-size:15px;"While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle and operate tools and equipment, reach with hands and arms, balance, kneel, bend, carry, reach, push, pull, lift, twist, grip, and communicate talk and hear. 80% of the time is stationary/sitting.
