Now, they are seeking a Director of Litigation and E-Discovery to lead their litigation support team and drive strategic advancements in e-discovery and litigation management.
About the Role
The Director of Litigation and E-Discovery will oversee litigation support, e-discovery processes, and technology implementation across the firm. The ideal candidate is a seasoned legal professional with deep expertise in litigation support software, AI-driven legal technology, and e-discovery workflows. This role requires collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, and firm leadership to optimize litigation practices and ensure compliance with discovery regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation & E-Discovery Leadership
- Develop and implement the firm’s litigation support and e-discovery strategy, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Oversee preservation, collection, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI).
- Collaborate with litigation teams to integrate cutting-edge AI technology and optimize legal search and discovery processes.
- Audit litigation files across all offices to ensure compliance with Litigation Uniform Filing SOPs and coordinate training as needed.
Technology & Training
- Lead training initiatives for attorneys, paralegals, and staff on litigation support software, AI technology, and discovery best practices.
- Evaluate and implement cost-effective e-discovery tools and case management solutions in collaboration with firm leadership.
- Work closely with the Paralegal Manager to ensure high-level competency in litigation support functions.
Operational Oversight & Compliance
- Manage the Litigation Support budget and oversee vendor selection, pricing, and contracts.
- Supervise the migration of case files for lateral hires and ensure seamless data integration.
- Conduct regular audits to identify cases that can be closed or archived.
- Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the Litigation Support team, ensuring efficiency and compliance with state and federal rules of civil procedure.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and develop Litigation Support staff, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to paralegals and attorneys, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of litigation support software (including Reveal), AI-driven technology, and advanced search techniques.
- Deep understanding of e-discovery compliance, including collection, production, and data preservation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively liaise with legal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related litigation technology tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of paralegal experience, with at least 3 years in a litigation management or e-discovery leadership role.
