Our client, a well-established law firm in Kendall, Florida, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills and extensive experience supporting attorneys in both state and federal courts. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case management, including calendaring deadlines, scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings.
- Prepare and file legal documents in both state and federal courts, including e-filing through respective platforms (e.g., Florida E-Filing Portal and CM/ECF).
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery responses under attorney supervision.
- Manage attorney schedules, coordinate travel arrangements, and prepare expense reports.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documents are current and accurately filed.
- Conduct legal research and assist in trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, trial binders, and witness materials.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.
- Monitor case progress and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a legal assistant with a focus on litigation in state and federal courts.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures, including e-filing requirements.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Education: Paralegal certificate or relevant legal assistant training is a plus but not required.
